About
My paternal grandmother taught me to knit at the age of 11. In the 30+ years since then, knitting has been a constant part of my life.
In 2001, I earned my degree in Home Economics and immediately went to work in the fast food industry. My time there was short lived and I soon landed a job with a family friend, assisting in her technical publications business. Thus my career in documentation, graphic design, and printing was launched. In addition to my time in the printing industry, I have also worked for about a decade as an Adobe software trainer, teaching other graphic designers how to master graphic design software, to help them create what they envision in their mind's eye, and become more efficient in their workflows.
In 2020, my love of knitting and graphic design merged and KnitSwag was born. The idea for KnitSwag came about because of the popularity of "Ugly Christmas Sweater" designs in media and promotional products. But I noticed that in these designs, the details were wrong... the stitch shape was incorrect, and it was apparent to me that these designs were created by non-knitters. So I set about creating truly accurate (and classy) knit-themed designs: created by a knitter, for other knitters.
I have taken the design software knowledge that I've spent 20+ years acquiring, and applied it to knit-themed designs. I am using my skills in technical illustration, photo editing, and long document publishing in my daily work with KnitSwag.
I truly love what I do, and my hope is that my KnitSwag designs will bring joy and happiness into people's lives!
I am located in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.
